Healing from trauma · Rebuilding identity · Long-term emotional growth
You've made big changes—left the relationship, gotten sober, walked away from the life that wasn't working. But now comes the hollow middle. You're not who you were... and not yet who you're becoming.
I help you navigate this in-between. We'll grieve what's gone, explore what's emerging, and rebuild your life from a place of clarity—not urgency.
When you're not in crisis—but you're not okay either.
My work helps you bridge that uncertain middle space so you can rebuild from truth, not urgency.
Therapy that meets you beyond words.
When your body's still bracing—even though the danger's long gone.
You're not who you used to be. But who are you now?
You didn't choose this loss—but you're here now.
Cultural identity and inherited rupture can shape who we are—but they don't define who we become.
You put out the fire. Now you're sitting in the ashes.
Connection takes courage. Let's build it together.
If you're ready to stop surviving and start becoming—you're in the right place.

You've done the hard part: you left the relationship, got sober, moved through loss, or made a life change that others might not even understand.
Now you're in that strange middle space—no longer who you were, not yet sure who you're becoming.
That's where I come in.
I'm Dalena, a Licensed Master Social Worker based in Sandy Springs, Georgia. I'm a first generation Vietnamese American whose work focuses on helping adults move from emotional survival into grounded, embodied growth.
Whether you're grieving something you chose to leave—or something you didn't—I'm here to walk beside you as you rebuild. I believe healing doesn't always mean fixing; sometimes it means remembering who you really are beneath the surface.
Outside of work, I find joy in making pottery, sipping matcha lattes, exploring the outdoors, visiting museums, and sharing time with my beloved community.
I provide therapeutic services that are aware, affirming and conscious. You are welcomed, celebrated and safe here. I utilize a person-centered framework, am trauma-informed, pulling from Internal Family Systems, Existentialism, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brainspotting practices to meet both your story and your nervous system where they are.
Healing isn't linear, and I don't treat it like it is. Some sessions we'll go deep into the body's memory; others we'll sit with what's emerging and let it speak. I follow your pace, not a protocol, because real change takes root when you feel safe enough to let it.
Together, we'll build emotional fluency, explore long-held patterns, and discover what it means to live from a place of presence, not performance.
"If you're in the in-between, I'd be honored to help you cross into what's next."
Therapy that values emotional truth over quick fixes. We'll build a sustainable foundation for lasting change.
"We don't heal in isolation, but in connection. The journey toward wholeness happens when we allow ourselves to be seen, known, and supported."— Dalena Phan, LMSW
Therapy is a brave step—and it's okay to have questions.
I specialize in working with adults who are in the "in-between"—after a big life change but not yet sure who they are becoming. This includes trauma recovery, addiction recovery and emotional sobriety, grief and loss, life transitions, identity rebuilding, intergenerational trauma, and couples work. If you're not in crisis but you know something needs to shift, I'm likely a good fit.
Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your history, what you're hoping to work on, and what you're looking for in a therapist. There's no pressure to dive into anything you're not ready for. We move at your pace.
Yes! I offer both virtual and in-person sessions. Virtual sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of telehealth, while others prefer the in-person connection. We can discuss what works best for you.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. In some cases, extended sessions may be available—we can discuss this based on your needs and goals.
Most clients meet weekly, especially at the start of therapy when we're building momentum and trust. As you make progress, we may shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions. The frequency is always something we determine together based on your needs and schedule.
